Loose Women viewers call for Jane McDonald's permanent return

The 53-year-old singer had been a favourite on the panel of the ITV show before she quit in 2014, saying at the time that she had "loved every minute" of her time on the series.

Jane McDonald was such a hit when she returned to Loose Women on Monday (06Feb17) after three years away that many viewers called for her to be permanently reinstated.

The 53-year-old singer had been a favourite on the panel of the ITV show before she quit in 2014, saying at the time that she had "loved every minute" of her time on the series.

Jane made her comeback on the lunchtime chat show on Monday to promote her new Channel 5 programme Cruising with Jane McDonald, and ensured her appearance was packed with naughty innuendos - much to the delight of viewers.

Many fans took to social media to request that Jane should return to the show permanently, with one writing: "Please @TheJaneMcDonald come back to @loosewomen. You've always been my fave loose lady. Such a classy, gorgeous lady. Great to see you."

Another added, "@TheJaneMcDonald would like to see you back as a LW. Great fun with you on the panel," while someone else tweeted, "@loosewomen @TheJaneMcDonald would love to see Jane back as a regular panelist on Loose Women."

It seems Loose Women producers also enjoyed having Jane back alongside the newly-crowned Celebrity Big Brother champion Coleen Nolan, with the official Twitter account of the show posting: "How great is it to have @TheJaneMcDonald back with @NolanColeen? These two make us laugh so much!"

During her time on the show, Jane also spoke about her new musical project called Hold The Covers Back, explaining: "I've been writing for quite a few years, I think I've been pigeonholed as a covers artist but I've been singing my songs for years."

Jane also won over fans with her performance as Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Cats when it toured in Blackpool, and hinted that she may make a return to the stage in the near future.

"I've got a few sort of things lined up," she smiled, adding: "I hate when I can't say things!"
