Lopez: I’m a grinding pro!
Jennifer Lopez has recalled her time as a back-up dancer for the likes of New Kids on the Block.
The 45-year-old has had highly successful acting and singing careers for years. But before she hit the big time on her own, she earned money as a dancer for other major artists.
“I used to be a back-up dancer for the New Kids on the Block if you go into the archives. Oh I love them...I've been grinding for a long time,” she laughed during an appearance on Good Morning America.
The Jenny from the Block singer also appeared in Janet Jackson’s That’s the Way Love Goes video before finding fame on her own. Since then she has released eight studio albums and worked on films including Maid in Manhattan and Monster-in-Law.
While the mother-of-two has focused more on her music career lately, she will soon be seen in The Boy Next Door, where her character is a bit of a cougar.
“It seemed so perfect for me right now in my life,” she revealed. “[Claire Peterson is] late 30s-early 40s...separated about to go through a divorce, deciding, feeling like at her lowest point in her life. You know how that is, her husband's cheated on her. She doesn't know how to deal with it, and is not feeling desirable.”
“And this young man next door - The Boy Next Door - comes along and starts giving her little compliments. She's super vulnerable and she crosses that line. We all have been there and for that reason I felt like I understood her.”
Jennifer has firsthand experience of dating younger men, as she had a relationship with her own back-up dancer Casper Smart, 27, for nearly three years until they broke up last year.
The thriller also stars Ryan Guzman, Kristin Chenoweth, and John Corbett.
