Louis Smith has moved on from his split from Lucy Mecklenburgh by dating professional dancer Florence Edge, according to reports.

Louis Smith has reportedly started a relationship with dancer Florence Edge.

The 27-year-old gymnast was crowned the winner of Strictly Come Dancing in 2012 and went on to win the Christmas special in 2014.

He has also been rehearsing for the upcoming Keep Dancing tour, which will see him perform at the Birmingham Alexandra from 6 to 10 December (16), and it's here that Louis met Florence.

Now the couple are said to be in the fledgling stages of a romance, with a source telling The Sun: "Louis and Flo are really into each other after growing close on tour.

"They’ve been enjoying each other’s company dining out and going on romantic dog walks together. He’s still taking things slowly though – they’re not official yet but things are really heating up between them."

Stunning brunette Florence bears a striking resemblance to Louis' ex, Lucy Mecklenburgh. Louis and former The Only Way Is Essex star Lucy were together for 14 months before they split in February (16), with the athlete admitting at the time that he made the decision to end the romance.

"I could have stayed with Lucy but the longer I left it, the more attached she would feel and the more damage it would have done in the future," he told OK! magazine. "It was hard, but if it’s not right, it’s not right and I wanted to make the decision to end it sooner rather than later."

However, the break-up didn't put Louis off love, as he confessed just a month after the split that he had signed up for online dating app Tinder.

News of the romance comes after a difficult few months for Louis, who has been suspended from British Gymnastics for two months after a video emerged in which he appears to mock Islam.
