Louise Redknapp: 'Strictly reignited my passion for performing'
Louise Redknapp is eyeing up a return to the spotlight following her time on Strictly Come Dancing.
Louise Redknapp's stint on Strictly Come Dancing cemented her desire to continue performing.
The 42-year-old star rose to fame as part of girl group Eternal and also had a brief solo career up until the early 2000s, followed by TV hosting duties.
Last year (16) she participated in the 14th series of the popular BBC dance show, coming third with her professional partner Kevin Clifton, and it was an experience that further ignited her passion for showcasing her talents.
“I wouldn’t give up my time away from the limelight for all the money in the world. But it is hard when you’re married to someone with a very successful career, and you have children, to have everything," Louise, who has two children with retired footballer husband Jamie Redknapp, told Women's Health magazine.
“Something has to give somewhere, and I think it was me that gave. You get comfortable and you stop chasing the dream a little bit. Going back and doing Strictly made me realise my desire is still the same. I just love being on the stage.”
The programme not only inspired her but it also helped other women gain confidence, as the former singer revealed she's been praised for giving fans a new "lease of life". Her husband is supportive no matter what she does and Louise is keen to go back to her pop star roots in the future after her brush with showbiz again.
“Jamie always says: ‘I married you when you were a pop star and then you became the mother of my kids. As long as you’re happy, that’s what I care about,'" she smiled.
“He knows I now have the self-belief that I can do whatever I want. He knows that I would have loved to have got into musicals. I’d love to sing again."
