Love Island winners Nathan and Cara considering TOWIE future

Love Island winners Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde would "love" to join the cast of The Only Way Is Essex, and are currently in talks with various shows about their television future.

Love Island winners Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde would "love" to join the cast of The Only Way Is Essex.

The couple were crowned the winners of the ITV2 programme on Monday night's (11Jul16) final after winning 54 per cent of the vote. Their loveable personalities and cheeky sense of humour made them firm favourites on the series, and the duo have revealed they are in talks with other shows.

Among the programmes they are considering is The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE). With friends on the show, the pair would fit in nicely, and Nathan said they wouldn't turn down roles on the reality series.

"We have friends on TOWIE and I've said before that I would love to join the show, so we wouldn't say no," Nathan told Britain's Daily Star newspaper.

They should feel somewhat confident too as former Love Island contestant Jon Clark made a move to the Essex-based series following his appearance on last year's (15) show.

Cara added that while she's not against a TOWIE future, she is just keen to continue on the small screen in some capacity.

"Of course we are excited about new TV projects and would love to continue entertaining," she smiled.

Following their win on Love Island, fans were quick to demand that Nathan and Cara should get their own spin off show.

"If Nathan n (sic) cara don't have a reality show in a couple of years I'll be ragin (sic)", one person wrote on Twitter, while another added, "Cara and Nathan need their own TV show. I would be all over that, they are epic together."

Nathan and Cara took home £50,000 after winning Love Island, and made the decision to split the prize fund straight down the middle.

With £25,000 each, the pair have already decided what they are going to splash out on, with Cara saying: "I can't wait to get home and now I can buy my mum a house and give her the deposit for it."

Nathan added that he's planning to treat his father to a golfing trip with his money.
