Love Island's Terry and Emma split after eight months together
Terry Walsh took to Twitter on Thursday (23Feb17) to confirm he and Emma-Jane Woodhams had called time on their romance.
Love Island stars Terry Walsh and Emma-Jane Woodhams have split after eight months together.
Terry, 28, took to Twitter to confirm he and 19-year-old Emma have called time on their relationship, writing: "For people asking me or who it concerns me n Em have broken up. We're still friends. One chapter closes another must open (sic)."
He later added: "And Thanks to everyone that did support us."
Terry and Emma didn't have the smoothest start to their relationship on the ITV2 show, after the tattooed hunk ended his romance with Malin Andersson following her exit from the house in order to get together with brunette Emma.
The new couple further caused controversy when they had sex on top of the covers and in front of their fellow housemates, with Emma's reasoning that producers couldn't show their lovemaking if it took place in the open. However, bosses opted to show a snippet of the intimate moment, leading to complaints being made to television watchdog Ofcom.
A spokesperson later revealed Love Island had been cleared by Ofcom over the incident, saying at the time: "We investigated a small number of complaints about a scene where two housemates had sex shortly after the watershed, but didn't find it breached broadcasting rules."
Emma has yet to comment on the split on her social media accounts, but she did retweet a message from Love Island co-star Alex Bowen, who defended the former couple from trolls when he wrote: "People that have happiness from others Misfortune... you will always be a t**t... some comments I see saying another couple down #stfu (shut the f**k up)."
Alex is half of one of the few couples who have lasted since Love Island came to an end. He proposed to girlfriend Olivia Buckland, who he met on the show, last December (16), while the winners of the show, Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey, are also still together.
