Gareth Thomas quit The Jump for "personal reasons".
Lydia Bright can't believe she's been given another chance at The Jump after Gareth Thomas quit the show for "personal reasons".
The Only Way Is Essex star was one of the original competitors on this year’s series of the winter sports programme, but narrowly missed out on a place in the final in last week's show. But when rugby ace Gareth announced he had made the decision to quit just days before the grand finale, Lydia was invited back for the final, and shared her excitement on her Twitter page.
"Yes it's true. Big boots to fill... I can't believe this is happening right now! Making it through to the FINAL of The Jump is INSANE," she wrote.
Her fellow TOWIE star Georgia Kousoulou also shared her joy over Lydia being back in the competition, tweeting: "SOO happy my girl @LydiaRoseBright is back into the jump !!!!!!! Final here we come !!!!! so proud of you Lyd."
Lydia will now compete against Olympic gymnast Louis Smith, Paralympic medallist Kadeena Cox, and Emma Parker Bowles in Sunday night's final.
Channel 4 confirmed that Gareth had left the show on Tuesday night, saying in a statement: "Gareth Thomas has withdrawn due to personal reasons."
The sportsman has made no further indication of the nature of these reasons on his social media.
Gareth was the fourth star to withdraw from the 2017 series of The Jump - Caprice was ill so had to pull out, Bradley Wiggins broke his leg and Vogue Williams suffered an injury which meant she had to pull out before an episode had even aired.
