Lynch ready for Walk of Fame honour
Jane Lynch can’t wait to accept the 2,505th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Wednesday.
The 53-year-old Emmy-winning actress has been awarded the 2,505th star on the famous Los Angeles strip and took to Twitter Tuesday evening to share her elation with fans the day before the ceremony.
“Getting my STAR ON TJE WALK OF FAME tomorrow! 11:30 am. Hollywood and Cherokee. Love to see you there! @starwalk,” she gushed (sic).
Glee producer Ryan Murphy will be among guest speakers at the glitzy event, which will see Jane's accolade placed in front of the Sports Center Store at 6640 Hollywood Boulevard.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced Jane would be its newest inductee last month, with Walk of Fame ceremonies producer Ana Martinez calling her “one of Hollywood’s funniest actresses”.
“We know the fans will be thrilled to see her on our famous walk! Hopefully they will wear their tracksuits in her honour!” the producer said, referring to Jane's style-challenged Glee character.
Jane has accumulated an impressive list of credits in theatre, film and television in her decades-long career, having started out at The Second City theatre and now starring on Golden Globe and SAG Award-winning series Glee as athletic coach Sue Sylvester.
The series was recently hit by tragedy following the death of Jane’s castmate, Cory Monteith, who suffered a fatal overdose in July at the age of 31.
The cast and crew are working on a tribute episode in the actor’s honour, scheduled to air October 10, according to TV Line.
Jane's Walk of Fame ceremony will be streamed live on walkoffame.com.
