Madonna ‘clearing diary for Brit Awards’
Madonna is said to be in talks to perform at the Brit Awards in February.
The 56-year-old Grammy-winning pop icon is said to be planning a huge comeback this awards season.
And a new report suggests she’s hoping to take the stage at the 35th Brit Awards next month.
“Madonna wants to perform to the biggest number of people for the maximum impact and there’s no better place for a controversy-filled Madonna performance than the Brits,” a source told UK newspaper The Mirror.
“She has cleared her diary for the Brits. She knows she needs to really entertain and bring a good show because she’ll want to be the talking point.”
The Grammy Awards take place on February 8 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and Madonna seemed to have confirmed she’ll be singing at the ceremony, writing on Twitter: “Rebel Hearts see you Feb 8th @TheGRAMMYs #GRAMMY's #rebelheart (sic).”
Apparently she’s introducing fresh tunes at both the Grammys and the BRITs.
“She has already confirmed she will perform at the Grammys, when she will debut the new music,” the insider said.
“But her album is due out on March 9, a month after the LA ceremony, so she wants another large platform to perform her songs on just before it is released.”
Although it’s believed BRIT event organisers have yet to decide on a final performance schedule, speculation is rife Madonna is “99 per cent confirmed” for the show.
“The final line-up is not yet confirmed,” a source told the publication, with an alleged spokesperson for the Girl Gone Wild singer claiming it’s “just speculative” the star will grace the BRITs stage.
The 2015 Brit Awards take place at the O2 arena in London on February 25, with Taylor Swift, Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran set to perform.
