Madonna 'ordered to remove parking signs'
Madonna's neighbour complained about 'no parking signs' surrounding the public car space outside her New York home, leading to the singer being ordered to remove the signage.
Madonna has been ordered to remove 'no parking signs' from the public car space outside her New York City home.
The Material Girl singer allegedly erected a metal sign outside her property stating: "Tenant parking only... unauthorized vehicles will be towed away at vehicle owner's expense", while the words "No Parking" had been embossed in cement on the sidewalk, and the nearby curb had been painted yellow.
Madonna's neighbour reported the signage and the singer's attempt to reserve her own parking spot to the New York Department of Transportation. An official visited Madonna's $40 million (£28 million) Upper East Side townhouse on Wednesday (23Mar16) and ordered her team to remove the signage immediately, according to TMZ.com.
This is the latest blow for Madonna after a troubling few months. She has been locked in a custody battle with her ex-husband Guy Ritchie over their 15-year-old son Rocco. The teenager refused to return back to New York after visiting his father in London in December (15).
Madonna originally filed her case in New York and London, but the U.K. proceedings were closed this week (beg21Mar16) as per Madonna's request.
The judge Mr Justice MacDonald urged the former couple to resolve the matter rather than drag it out and risk missing the remaining years of Rocco's childhood.
"Summer does not last forever," he said. "The boy very quickly becomes the man. It would be a very great tragedy for Rocco if any more of the precious and fast receding days of his childhood were to be taken up by this dispute.
"Far better for each of his parents to spend that time enjoying, in turn, the company of the mature, articulate and reflective young man who is their son and who is a very great credit to them both."
Madonna finished her Rebel Heart world tour in Sydney, Australia on Sunday (20Mar16). The trek has made her the highest grossing touring solo artist in the history of Billboard Boxscore tour sales tracker.
