Madonna's friends reportedly want her to reunite with "the love of her life" Sean Penn.
The 54-year-old superstar singer was famously married to the actor from 1985 to 1989.
Earlier this month it was rumoured a romantic reconciliation could be on the horizon after Sean attended Madonna's MDNA show.
Since their split the couple have remained friends, and those closest to the Vogue songstress believe he is the perfect man for her.
"Madonna's friends wish she'd get back with Sean," a source told Us Weekly. "He will always be the love of her life. They've remained close friends, but they are fire and fire together romantically. She can only be with someone she can control."
The 52-year-old actor was in the front row for his ex-wife's recent performance in Los Angeles.
Reports stated that there was a visible spark between the former couple.
"Their chemistry was off the charts," a concert-goer claimed. "Madonna seemed to be performing entirely for Sean. And he was saying things like 'Amazing!' and 'She's so hot!'"
Although single Sean is currently single, Madonna has been with her 26-year-old boyfriend Brahim Zaibat for the last two years.
