Madonna’s ‘Gypsy birthday’
Madonna and her party guests reportedly danced on haystacks at her 57th birthday bash.
The Material Girl pop legend turned 57 years old on August 16 and she celebrated her new age in style by throwing a bash at her mansion in the Hamptons.
An insider tells PageSix Madonna entered her party “in a vintage Gypsy wagon filled to overflowing with dancers all in Gypsy attire”.
It’s claimed attendees included Naomi Watts, Andy Cohen, Kelly Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos, stylist B. Åkerlund, designers Jeremy Scott, Dan and Dean Caten among others. Apparently her children Lourdes, Rocco, David and Mercy were there too, with the star’s tots gifting her a French bulldog pup named Gypsy Rosa Lee.
All guests donned Gypsy-inspired outfits to the event and they were treated to wonderful entertainment, including live flamenco dancing.
Sources reveal bales of hay were stacked all over the 50-acre property for people to sit and socialise on.
“Everyone sat on the bales of hay and later stood on them to dance,” the insider detailed. “The party was still going as the sun was rising on Monday morning.”
It is no surprise Madonna’s bash was so creative.
The Rebel Heart songstress has recently spoken about her unending desire to create art out of everything.
“I like to compare myself to other kinds of artists like Picasso,” she said in an interview with The Canadian Press. “He kept painting and painting until the day he died. Why? Because I guess he felt inspired to do so. Life inspired him, so he had to keep expressing himself, and that’s how I feel.
“I don’t think there’s a time, a date, an expiration date for being creative. I think you go until you don’t have any more to say.”
