Simon Cowell's US X Factor will apparently undergo "major" changes when it returns.
The singing competition failed to set the ratings on fire across the pond last season - despite a panel which included pop princesses Britney Spears and Demi Lovato - and it seems show bosses are now planning a shake-up.
Mike Darnell, Fox's president of alternative entertainment, told Entertainment Weekly: "There will be [changes], but I can't go into that yet. Some of them will be major."
Britney announced her departure from the panel after the last season, as did record executive LA Reid, while Demi will be returning to critique more wannabes.
And earlier this week it was revealed that Simon has added former Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland and Latin artist Paulina Rubio to the judging panel for the show's third season.
Darnell said he didn't yet know what the new combination would bring to the table.
"I don't know yet," he said. "Obviously no one's had three women judges before. You have this Charlie's Angels thing going on with Simon Cowell."
He went on: "If anything we've learned that big names don't draw a lot of viewers to the shows. They have to be a great judge. It has to feel familial and fun. That's the main thing."
