The This Is Us star is starting a new life chapter.

Actress Mandy Moore is craving a baby following her split from rocker Ryan Adams.

The former couple's divorce was finalised in June (16) and she has since moved on with Dawes guitarist Taylor Goldsmith, who she has been dating since July (15), six months after she initially filed to end her marriage with Ryan.

Mandy is currently portraying a mother on U.S. TV show This Is Us and the role has totally fuelled her ambition to become a parent in real life.

“There is something fundamentally biological about (becoming a mother),” she tells People. “Doing the show and holding the babies, I feel it on my insides.”

“It’s about that time in my life,” she adds. “I’m definitely ready.”

Even the intense labour scenes she filmed for This Is Us doesn't put her off having a baby. However, the star admits mimicking a birth for television was so awkward, she doesn't know what to expect when it happens for real.

"I had a bodysuit I would pull up," the 32-year-old explains of her uncomfortable pregnancy costume. "But the boobs I had the most trouble with. They were right underneath my chin! I had to adjust the boobs more than I had to do anything else."

Ultimately in the first few months since her divorce was signed off by a judge, Moore is feeling freer than ever and she is excited about what is to come in her personal life.

“I’m starting with a clean slate,” she smiles. “I really am starting the next chapter."
