Mariah Carey's twins Roc and Roe made a grand entrance into the world, it has been revealed.

The superstar diva, who has received many standing ovations in her life, wanted nothing less when welcoming twins Moroccan Scott and Monroe into the world on April 30, her husband Nick Cannon said.

"My wife wanted to make sure that when the babies came out, that they came out not only to a Mariah Carey song, but a live performance from Mariah Carey - her Madison Square Garden performance of Fantasy - so they came out to a round of applause. It was a production," he told US talk show host Gayle King.

Actor-comedian Nick also said he has no problems with playing a backseat role to his wife.

"At times, (being called Mr Mariah Carey) used to frustrate me. When I step back and look at my life as a whole, I could be called a lot of worse things than Mr Mariah Carey," he admitted.
