Marnie and Ricky still going strong

Marnie Simpson and Ricky Rayment have insisted their romance is still going strong.

The Geordie Shore star sparked speculation her engagement was over after just two months yesterday. The reports came after Marnie took to Twitter to express her heartbreak over an incident which she couldn't "ever have imagined", although she didn't confirm what had happened.

Rumours that the star and her former The Only Way Is Essex boyfriend were over then took hold, but Marnie's friend Chloe Goodman cleared them up.

"This tweet was about her puppy Smith not ricky ... Her puppy had a horrible accident @MarnieGShore (sic)," she wrote on Twitter, with Marnie quickly reposting the message.

Before this, it had been suggested Ricky had called time on the whirlwind romance because he feared Marnie had been unfaithful.

He has also used the social media network to set the record straight.

"All stories in magazine and papers are false. Until you get a quote from me personally, don't believe what you read x," he wrote.

"Unless the story comes from my mouth then don't believe a word the papers and magazine say."

Ricky and Marnie were together for six months before he popped the question and have both gushed about how happy they are.

However, they have been plagued by rumours their romance is rocky over the last few weeks. After Marnie was photographed enjoying a night out with a male pal without her engagement ring on last month, it was suggested that Ricky was furious and didn't want to be with her any more.

She insisted this was completely untrue, blaming the media for blowing things out of proportion.

"I'm allowed to have friends who are boys, stupid media making out something bad," she fumed to Twitter.

"My ring was at home as I didn't want to lose it... Big deal!"
