Megan McKenna: 'I love TOWIE but it's so draining'

Megan McKenna hates the negativity on The Only Way Is Essex, admitting that starring in the reality show is "draining".
The 24-year-old star has been involved in some exciting storylines during her time on the ITVBe series, including the demise of her on-off relationship with Pete Wicks.
But living out the most dramatic parts of her life on screen has taken its toll on the Essex girl.
"I love TOWIE but it's definitely draining," she told the Daily Mail Online. "Problems are dragged out on it, and talked about for weeks and weeks, and everyone gets involved. (The 20th series) has been one of my hardest. There's a lot of negativity in that cast. And they enjoy it.
"They cling on to the stuff that happens. TOWIE is their life. They're bitter. It's a shame."
Among the tough scenes for Megan was the breakdown of her friendship with best pal Chloe Meadows, following Chloe’s accusations she gave up on their friendship to be with Pete.
They have yet to rekindle their friendship, and Megan isn't going to be the one giving in first.
"Me and Pete are civil. We are getting on. He is friends with my friends, so it's easier that way," she said. "As for Chloe, she needs to get over it. I didn't do anything wrong. She's so hypocritical."
And when it comes to how Megan is going to cope with the next series of the show, the former Ex on the Beach star admits she’s only going to think about number one.
"Going forward I'm just not going to give a f**k," she said. "People affected me and there were break downs. Stuff that happened with Chloe, Tommy (Mallet) and Georgia (Kousoulou) was all unfair.
"Next series, I will go in, talk to the ones I like and that's it. I don't care."
