Mel B falls for Spice reunion hoax
Wednesday, 25 May 2011
Singer and reality TV star Mel, who is currently Down Under to judge The Australian X Factor, appeared to get excited when GeriHalliwell1, and a message putting forward the idea of a reunion to all the Spice Girls, appeared on the social networking site.
Mel B tweeted: "Whoop whoop hands up for another spice tour!!!!! count me in"
And she added: "Hope the other girls say yes, to spice touring again, to perform spice songs again would be AMAZING, spice fans here we come, fingers crossed."
But it was soon revealed that the Twitter account was fake and it was not really Ginger Spice Geri tweeting.
On learning the news, Mel B wrote: "Ahhhh shoot (the site) got hacked boo hoo! Nearly had my leopard print catsuit on!"
The so-called Geri Halliwell account has now been deleted.
The Spice Girls held a world reunion tour in 2007, ending in Toronto on 26 February 2008.
Jennifer Saunders is currently writing the script for the Spice Girls' musical, Viva Forever, but it is not known if the band will perform together again.
