Mel B: Spice Girls breakup rumours bogus

Melanie 'Mel B' Brown

Mel B claims the Spice Girls are very much together, even though speculation is rife Victoria ‘Posh Spice’ Beckham has recently declared she will never perform with the group again.

Singer-turned-designer Victoria ‘Posh Spice’ Beckham recently announced in a statement that her “singing days are over”.

The Spice Girls had been in talks to go on tour in 2014, with the other girls reportedly meeting at Geri ‘Ginger Spice’ Halliwell’s house to discuss plans. However, Victoria had always made it clear the London Olympic Games closing ceremony would be her farewell performance.

Melanie states that all breakup speculation surrounding the band is bogus.

“None of us have left,” she told Us Weekly.

“We are Spice Girls through and through, individually, and as a group. We just did the Olympics together - I love my home girls. Stop it!”

There are also rumours that the girls are jealous of each other, with Melanie coveting Victoria’s success in the fashion industry.

Melanie dismisses gossip about cattiness as pure hearsay.

“No, they’re my girls,” she declared. “I adore her! I’ve known them for 25 years. I’m so happy when one of them has gotten their thing up and running. I love it!”

Melanie is currently a judge on US reality TV contest America’s Got Talent

She reveals the Spice Girls may make an appearance on the programme.

“Maybe," Melanie said. "We shall see!”
