Michael Jackson doctor will appeal

Dr Conrad Murray has filed a notice that he intends to appeal against his conviction for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson (AP)

The US doctor sentenced to four years in prison for causing Michael Jackson's death has filed a notice that he intends to appeal against the conviction.

Conrad Murray signed the notice, filed in Los Angeles on Friday, seeking all records and transcripts from the case.

The filing does not indicate the basis on which Murray will argue to overturn his conviction or sentence.

Murray was sentenced on Tuesday for his involuntary manslaughter conviction, but the term will be automatically cut in half.

Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor criticised Murray's conduct, calling him a disgrace to the medical profession.

Murray's challenge will be heard by a state appeals court in Los Angeles.

Don't get involved with a hidden intrigue. The drama will be exciting at first, but eventually you will tire of keeping secrets. If someone is interested in you romantically, you shouldn't have to sneak around together. An oppressive work situation may tempt you to quit your job. Try not to discuss your plans with colleagues. You don't want a rival to tell your employer about your resignation until you're ready to tender it. Protect your interests at all costs.More
