Miguel: Wiz Khalifa’s authentic
Miguel Pimentel has spoken about what fans can expect from his and Wiz Khalifa’s shared performance at the Grammys this Sunday and why he’s such a huge fan of the rapper.
The R&B crooner is up for five Grammy awards this year with his tune Adorn placed in the Song of the Year category.
Wiz Khalifa’s collaboration with Snoop Dogg and Bruno Mars, a song entitled Young, Wild & Free, has earned a nod in the Best Rap Song category.
Miguel believes Wiz deserves all of his success and accolades, as the hip-hop musician has been authentic throughout his career.
"I think the illest thing about Wiz Khalifa is how true to himself he's always been, and I miss that from artists,” Miguel told MTV News.
“Nothing about what he does ever felt like he was reaching to be something that he wasn't. And when you meet people like that, and they just feel very natural, it's a very distinct feeling, and you just like them because they're themselves. And that's how Wiz is, man. You've got to respect that and love that about him."
Miguel and Wiz will perform the crooner’s song Adorn at this weekend’s Grammys.
Fans should expect to be blown away by a unique experience.
"It's gonna be different; expect it to be different," Miguel smiled.
"I can't tell you [specifics]; I don't want to spoil the moment, but it's going to be a lot of fun."
The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles this Sunday February 10.
