Miley Cyrus: I have lots of issues

Miley Cyrus raised eyebrows for her performance with Robin Thicke at the MTV VMAs

Miley Cyrus has opened up about her tough life as a pop star, admitting she has "issues".

The We Can't Stop singer and former Disney star caused controversy at the recent MTV Video Music Awards by twerking at Robin Thicke while wearing a skimpy nude latex bikini and touching herself with a giant foam finger.

She told the Sunday People: "I have so many f***ing issues. I am so f***ed up - everyone does dumb stuff when they are messed up. I don't have a normal life. I take a hiatus every now and again but I'm not good at that."

On her gruelling schedule, she said: "All I do is work, so I eat to live and to keep going. People are impressed with me because I can sleep for just 45 minutes - I'm used to it.

"I suppose I am a workhorse. I love being in the studio and when I take vacation I get so bored. I think of work as something I have to do. I've made a record so I have to promote it, so I have to work to get it done - and then pass out."

Miley rose to fame Disney TV show Hannah Montana and said: "During Hannah Montana I think people knew I was acting. I've never been able to hide anything, a bit like Justin Bieber.

"Others who have been on kids' shows try to act like their characters - but I'm not like that. I never pretended I was as good as the Disney Channel writes. I don't wear bright-coloured T-shirts and talk like this all the time.

"You will be amazed at some of the notes I got. Parents wrote in with messages saying things like, 'I can't believe she spoke to her dad like that,' or 'I can't believe she wore that shirt,' or 'I can't believe the lead actress has boobs!' It's crazy. But they can't make people not grow up."

You will have to defer to others, which makes you anxious. There's never any problem when you're in control. You know how to act quickly and decisively. When others are at the helm, progress grinds to a halt. People deliberate endlessly over simple matters. Instead of putting pressure on the person in charge, make a strategic retreat. If you act like you don't care about the outcome of a situation, they won't be paralysed with uncertainty. You have a tendency to make people nervous.More
