Miley: I don’t do famous friends

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus is proud of her “weird” group of friends because none of them are famous.

The 20-year-old singer’s raunchy antics have propelled her into the spotlight lately. She has become synonymous with the ‘twerking’ dance phenomenon and was slammed for her sexy We Can’t Stop video.

The star insists in everyday life she is more normal than anyone would think.

“I have a really weird group of friends, no one you would know. I don’t hang out with super-famous people; that’s not my thing,” she told We Love Pop magazine. “I hang out with the randoms. All the random LA people, they’re all in the video.”

Miley found fame on Disney TV show Hannah Montana, which has now ended. Her father Billy Ray Cyrus has previously admitted he regretted letting her take part because it changed her life forever, but Miley doesn’t feel that way. She is proud of the show and joked she can never say she’s killed off the character because she “still gets the cheques”.

The star took some time out before coming back with her new album Bangerz, which is out next month. Her previous record Can’t Be Tamed hit stores in 2010 and she is glad she retired from the limelight for a while, coming back with a new image.

“Rather than going straight into work I was like, ‘You know what? I’m gonna buy a dope house and do whatever I want in it and become whoever I’m supposed to be within these next two years.’ For me it’s like I’ve started from the bottom again but without the stress, I don’t need to build this fan base, or make this money, or stress. I have the fans and the people are gonna watch so…”

Your Horoscopes by Russell Grant

Your dry humour will be very popular. It's always difficult bringing a large group of people together. Everybody feels like they are walking on eggshells. After cracking a few jokes, you'll put the group at ease. Resist the temptation to make fun of relatives, especially the more sensitive members of the group. Nobody likes feeling singled out. Watching a light hearted comedy can also be a great way to generate a festive atmosphere. This is a time when people can put their differences aside.More
