Miley: I'm over Liam

Miley Cyrus has opened up about her split from Liam Hemsworth, saying she's too busy with work to worry about it.

The former Disney star announced her engagement to The Hunger Games actor last year, but recently it emerged they had ended their romance.

Liam and Miley's relationship is rumoured to have been rocky for a long time prior to the breakup and the 20-year-old insists this is the end of the road.

“I think people spend more time actually thinking about it than I really do," she admitted to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

"I just believe when a chapter is done you have to close it and start that new one. That’s kind of where I am right now. I felt like I have so much to be thankful for at this time that my energy hasn’t really been focused on that."

The star has certainly been keeping busy with work, promoting her album Bangerz and the racy video for latest single Wrecking Ball.

After a series of risqué, scantily-clad performances and photoshoots, the focus has been on her rebellious antics rather than her relationship breakdown.

“I’ve been kind of impressed with people and how much they’ve actually shown more respect," she smiled.

"I don’t really look up anything so maybe they haven’t been showing respect, but from what I have seen I felt like people have really focused on my music right now when I’ve needed them and have actually been really good about that, because that’s the only thing I worried about. I didn’t want it to mean [I had] to sacrifice what I’ve been working for. For just the attention to be on that.”
