Miley Cyrus believes her "word is her wand" and that she'll definitely be bagging a VMA.

The 20-year-old singer is up for an MTV Video Music Award in the best female and best pop categories for her We Can't Stop promo.

Recently Miley posted a picture of herself licking one of the 'Moonman' gongs on Twitter and the star believes the intimate act might have helped her seal the deal.

"It's going to be super dope when I win my VMA, my Moonman, 'cause one I already made out with him, so now he has to go home with me," she laughed to MTV News.

The quirky star has been busy tweeting her fans - also known as Smilers - encouraging them to vote for her.

Miley feels grateful about all the support she receives.

"And the other thing that I think my fans are obviously so crazy... and I'm always a big believer that your word is your wand so if I put any ifs then its unsure if I'm gonna get it, or not. If I just say: 'I am', then hopefully the Smilers make that happen, but if not, I already held him and I already got my picture with him, so I just gonna tell people I won even if I didn't," she grinned.

On Sunday August 25, Miley will be fighting off fierce competition from stars such as Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez.

However, this doesn't worry the star.

"I don't think about my competition," she shrugged.

"I just think about what I'm doing."
