Minaj ‘delving deep’ on new album
Nicki Minaj plans to bring “a new sound” to her forthcoming third album.
The 30-year-old rapper has had quite a busy year featuring on other musicians’ songs, including tracks with Ciara and Chris Brown.
Her last full-length solo LP Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded was released last year and Nicki is dying to write her own music.
"In the features [on other people’s songs], I don't really delve into no real deep sh*t. And with the album, thank God, I've experienced so much in the last year and a half that there is so much for me to talk about and I know my fans are going to be excited about it," the star told MTV News.
Nicki reveals her creative process is already underway and she has so many ideas about the new songs.
The star also said she aims to release her as-yet untitled record sometime in 2014.
"I'm definitely working," she shared.
"I'm very excited at what I've been coming up with. I already started, I didn't tell anybody because I didn't want to jinx it and stuff but I already started and I'm going home tomorrow to really start.”
Nicki didn’t discuss the musicians who will feature in her new songs, but she assures fans the names will be noteworthy.
"I'm really excited and the people that have been working with me now, have been people that I haven't worked with before so it's like they're bringing a new sound to the album that I've never experimented with and plus, I got so much to talk about," she gushed.
