Minnie Driver lands comedy role
Minnie Driver is heading back to television after landing a lead role in a new US TV pilot.
The British actress has been cast alongside Better Off Ted's Andrea Anders in comedy series Lady Friends, about two lifelong friends leading very different lives, reports Deadline.
Minnie - who starred in US show The Riches before it was cancelled in 2008 - will play unlucky Jen, while Andrea will star as her friend Nicole, a woman who has everything going for her.
TVLine.com reports that Cougar Town's Josh Hopkins will play Nicole's husband.
Minnie, 42, has appeared in several TV shows but made the biggest splash in The Riches before it was axed. Her performance as a con artist posing as a wealthy woman saw her nominated for a host of awards including a Golden Globe and an Emmy.
