Miranda Kerr: I can't do it all alone

Miranda Kerr believes she's made relationship mistakes because she's unwilling to let others in.

The model is married to actor Orlando Bloom and together they have son Flynn.

Along with commanding the catwalk, Miranda has made a success of her skincare line KORA Organics along with other projects inspired by health and nutrition. Her biggest problem in life has been admitting she can't do everything alone.

“My mistake in my relationships has been to feel that I can do it all on my own: I don’t need a man," Miranda candidly revealed to The Edit. "That is definitely a mistake. Women generally want to feel loved and appreciated. It’s something that I am working on every day, trust me! It’s a challenge for me to do that.”

Since marrying Orlando in 2010, Miranda has worked hard, appearing on magazine covers and fronting advertising campaigns to become one of the world’s highest-paid models.

The process of becoming a one-woman brand has made her feel less feminine and she has to focus on this while at home.

“I think it is really important not to feel as a woman that you have to do and be everything,” she explained. “I am quite dominant in my career, so what really works for me when I come home, is to relax more into the feminine side. If you’re really an alpha female, you don’t allow [your partner] to have the space to feel like the man in the relationship. Maybe I am too traditional, but men feel important when you ask for their help, instead of thinking you can do it all on your own.”

Miranda is generally a joyful and accepting person. When it comes to the paparazzi however, she struggles to remain calm and collected.

“I would think, ‘OK, it is what it is, it’s fine, they are just doing their job,' and then it would get to the point where I would take my son to the park and they’d be knocking people over – it was disturbing not only my world, but everyone’s around me, too," she shared. "I thought, ‘How are we going to live peacefully like this, when I can’t even go to the park with my son? Something’s got to change.’”

Miranda has managed to shrug off her Los Angeles home being burgled by the 'Bling Ring' gang, which is the subject of Sofia Coppola's new movie.

However, she and Orlando have recently relocated to New York as a result of the incident.

“The weird thing is that I am not attached to things: they come and they go. It could have been worse, that’s what I always say about everything. I mean, no one was hurt,” she explained.
