Mirren: Men can make me weak

Dame Helen Mirren and husband Taylor Hackford are never jealous of each other.

The 69-year-old actress is working as hard as ever and is currently filming comedy-drama The Hundred-Foot Journey and The Woman in Gold, which also stars Katie Holmes and Max Irons.

She's happily married to Taylor Hackford, but admits she has a wandering eye when it comes to good-looking guys.

"The word jealousy doesn't exist in our marriage," she assured German magazine Meins.

"We know each other and ourselves far too well. That's the great thing about being almost 70 rather than 20.

"I have a weakness for beautiful creations. I have no problem with younger men worshipping me. I've had a great time filming sex scenes with younger lovers."

It's not the first time Helen has amused fans with her cheeky sense of humour. She was recently quizzed by talk show host Jimmy Kimmel about the upcoming movie version of fetish novel Fifty Shades of Grey.

“The whips and chains are not my style, but who doesn’t love a jolly good spanking once in a while?” she grinned.

But the star has calmed down with age. These days she values her loved ones more than ever.

"As you get older, you start to realise how important family and children are," she said. "I have stepsons and a nephew with kids: my family life is intense."

However, this doesn't mean Helen will throw the acting towel in any time soon.

"I never accept my performance, because I always feel I could have done better," she admitted. "Even today I still suffer from worry and doubt. It makes me want to do better."
