Dame Helen Mirren will be seen as the Queen on the big screen once again - as her latest stage production is beamed live into cinemas.

She is currently starring in new play The Audience at London's Gielgud Theatre, reprising her role as the monarch which previously landed her an Oscar.

Her stage role - directed by Stephen Daldry - will be screened in cinemas on June 13 as part of National Theatre Live. It will also be shown internationally.

In the production, writer Peter Morgan has imagined a series of conversations between the Queen and her prime ministers during their regular private audiences.

It also stars Haydn Gwynne as Baroness Thatcher and Robert Hardy as Sir Winston Churchill.

Previous National Theatre Live screenings have included the Donmar Warehouse's production of King Lear starring Sir Derek Jacobi, and they have been seen in 250 cinemas and venues around the UK as well as 23 countries.

Dame Helen picked up her best actress Oscar for 2006 film The Queen - which was also written by Morgan - looking at events surrounding the death of Diana, Princess Of Wales.
