Mischa Barton crashes U-Haul into apartment building - report
The actress has yet to comment on the accident.
Mischa Barton was involved in a minor car accident after reportedly crashing a U-Haul truck into an apartment building over the weekend (11-12Feb17).
The O.C. star arrived to an apartment building in West Hollywood on Saturday (11Feb17), but reportedly hit the carport as she tried to drive under it.
Police were called to the scene, but it is unclear if she was cited for the accident. Mischa has yet to comment on the incident, but in a video obtained by TMZ she can be heard saying, “What are we going to do about this? Everything I own (is in there)."
The news comes a few weeks after the 31-year-old actress was hospitalised following a bizarre incident at her former home last month (Jan17). The actress was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after celebrating her birthday with friends. Sources told the website Mischa was hanging over her backyard fence in West Hollywood, wearing nothing but a shirt and tie, and ranting about her estranged mother. Police received multiple calls from her neighbours about her odd behaviour, and she was voluntarily transported to Cedars-Sinai for a mental evaluation.
In a statement to People last month, Mischa confirmed she had been released from hospital, and claimed someone gave her GHB, known as a date rape drug, while she was out with friends.
"On the evening of the 25th, I went out with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday. While having drinks, I realised that something was not right as my behaviour was becoming erratic and continued to intensify over the next several hours," she said.
"I voluntarily went to get professional help, and I was informed by their staff that I had been given GHB. After an overnight stay, I am home and doing well."
The actress then took to Twitter to praise her fans for standing by her during the drama and asked for privacy from the media.
"Thank you so much for all the love guys," she wrote. "It means the world to me. There is too much going on in the world so I appreciate this more than ever. From the bottom of my heart. We shall over come."
"To members of the press please respect my privacy," she added.
