Mo Adeniran wins The Voice after chaotic finale
It was a chaotic finale of the show, which saw Tom Jones accidentally swear and a stage invader make an unscheduled appearance.
Mo Adeniran was crowned the winner of The Voice on Sunday night (02Apr17), following a chaotic and headline-hitting finale.
The 21-year-old singer, who was one of new judge Jennifer Hudson's acts, wowed the judges with several incredible performances and beat runners-up Into The Ark to the top spot.
After the results were announced, Mo said: "Thank you everyone at home, just want to say thank you to Jennifer and all the coaches.
"An amazing thank you to the most phenomenal person I have ever met, thank you Jennifer."
His words of praise fuelled the tears of an already sobbing Jennifer, who was struggling to control her emotions throughout the evening.
She later took to Twitter to explain her show of emotions, writing: "I think I beat @imjustcalledmo crying !! I'm so proud !!!! #voiceuk."
Mo has won a recording contract with Polydor, who took to Twitter to congratulate him shortly after he was named the winner.
"CONGRATS TO @imjustcalledmo FOR WINNING THE VOICE UK! We'll be seeing you soon (sic)," they wrote.
It was something of a chaotic final episode of The Voice, following singing veteran Tom Jones accidentally swearing after Into The Ark was named one of the final two contestants.
"F**k me!" Tom shouted, before host Emma Willis was forced to apologise to viewers, adding: "There may have been a little swear word that popped out then through excitement – apologies to anybody if they were offended."
Then, after Mo was named the winner, a stage invader made an appearance, holding a piece of white paper with writing on it, before he was bundled off by security.
A representative for ITV told MailOnline: "During the results this evening, there was a brief interruption on stage, which was dealt with immediately by security. The show continued as planned."
Jennifer's other act Jamie Miller finished The Voice in third place.
