Moffat: Missy for Doctor Who return

Doctor Who executive producer Steven Moffat has confirmed that Michelle Gomez's villain Missy will be making a return to the show.

Michelle made her debut on the BBC sci-fi programme during series eight as a new incarnation of the Doctor's old enemy, The Master, but was last seen being vaporised in the final episode, Death In Heaven.

However, Steven told the Radio Times that didn't mean she would never be seen again, revealing: "I've already asked her to come back.

"I can't imagine anyone who's ever watched this genre being convinced that she's dead. The Master is never dead, no matter what happens to him or her. She's entirely unzappable!"

Series eight was the first full run that starred Peter Capaldi as the Time Lord, and he is set to return with Jenna Coleman as Doctor's assistant Clara Oswald, and guest star Nick Frost for the Christmas Day special Last Christmas.

A full ninth series is expected to follow in 2015.
