More time needed for Lohan probe

Lindsay Lohan will have to wait and see if she is to be charged over an alleged incident at a rehab centre

Lindsay Lohan will have to wait and see if she will be charged with battery over an alleged skirmish with a Betty Ford Centre rehabilitation technician.

The Riverside County district attorney's office wants another investigation before making their decision on the case.

Prosecutors and investigators met and decided that the office's investigators will further probe last month's alleged incident with rehab worker Dawn Holland, said John Hall, spokesman for the district attorney's office.

Li-Lo is accused of tussling with Ms Holland after the 24-year-old actress returned to the rehab centre past curfew on December 12 and refused Ms Holland's request to take a breath test.

Police said earlier this month that Lindsay violated her probation and wanted her charged with battery.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has said the Mean Girls actress will be jailed if she violates probation.
