Morgan’s health condition upgraded

Tracy Morgan has now progressed to “fair condition” after being critically injured in a car crash.

On Saturday June 7 the 45-year-old 30 Rock comedian was involved in a six-car accident that took the life of fellow comic James McNair.

Tracy was injured critically upon his admission to hospital and following surgery on his leg, the star is recuperating at a promising pace.

“Happy to pass along that Tracy has been upgraded to fair condition, which is a great improvement,” his spokesperson Lewis Kay told Variety in a statement. “His personality is certainly starting to come back as well.”

Tracy was riding in a limousine in New Jersey when his vehicle collided with a tractor trailer on a turnpike during the early hours of the morning.

At the time of the tragedy he was travelling with four others in the back of the automobile, including late comic James, who was sometimes known as Jimmy Mack, and fellow comedians Ardie Fuqua and Harris Stanton. The two passengers in the front of the vehicle were unhurt, as the tractor trailer smashed into the back of the limousine.

Kevin Roper, who was the man driving the truck that crashed into Tracy’s vehicle, has been charged with vehicular homicide and assault by auto. Last week he pled not guilty to all charges during an arraignment, but should he be convicted, Roper faces up to 15 years in prison.

Tracy is father to 11-month-old daughter Maven with his fiancée Megan Wollover, and his future wife has thanked fans numerous times for their support during this family tragedy.
