Mulligan and Nighy in the West End

Carey Mulligan and Bill Nighy take on the role of two ex-lovers for a West End play.

The pair have been pictured rehearsing their role in Skylight, directed by Stephen Daldry.

The production, at the Wyndham's Theatre, is a revival of David Hare's Olivier award-winning play.

The Great Gatsby actress Carey plays schoolteacher Kyra Hollis, who receives an unexpected visit from her former lover Tom Sergeant, played by Love Actually star Bill.

Matthew Beard, who starred with Carey in An Education, plays her lover's son.

Opening on June 18, the play sees the pair attempt to rekindle their once passionate relationship.
