A mother was charged today with stabbing her four-year-old girl to death on a housing estate.
The 36-year-old was appearing before magistrates this afternoon accused of murdering the child last December.
Police found the little girl's body in Clapton, east London, after reports of a knife attack.
Paramedics attended the incident in Elderfield Road but the girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was appearing before Thames Magistrates' Court today over her daughter's death on the Chatsworth Estate.
A post-mortem examination took place in December but no formal cause of death has been released.
The Metropolitan Police child abuse investigation team led the murder inquiry.
