Music stars describe the highlights of their year
American singer John Legend has described becoming a father as the highlight of his year, over a number of musical achievements.
The American artist spoke at the BBC Music Awards on Monday night, where he performed renditions of his hit tracks All Of Me, and Love Me Now.
Speaking about the birth of his daughter Luna Simone with wife Chrissy Teigen, he told the Press Association: "We had a baby, and that's really the most important thing," before mentioning the release of his latest album Darkness and Light.
It has been a year of big personal milestones for music stars, with singer Pixie Lott last month announcing her engagement to model Oliver Cheshire.
Showing off a large sparkling ring on the red carpet, she said: "I've always said I would love to have two weddings - to the same person, obviously.
"I'd like to have a really big one in England and then a really small one, just family, in a hot place. Somewhere I can walk barefoot down the aisle.
"No plans yet because it has just happened, but I can't wait to get planning early next year."
The 25-year-old Londoner also said that she loved playing Holly Golightly in this year's West End production of Breakfast at Tiffany's, describing it as an extremely "intense" experience.
Presenter Fearne Cotton, who hosted the live event with Claudia Winkleman and Gemma Cairney at London's ExCeL also highlighted motherhood as an important part of her year.
Speaking about juggling her commitments as a presenter and writer with taking care of her two young children, she told the Press Association: "My social life has absolutely dissipated and at the moment it's basically kids, family and work - going out can be parked to one side for now."
She revealed she has been working "relentlessly" on her new book Happy, which will be released in February, as well as a second cookbook and a Fearne on Fashion series for the Huffington Post.
