Nadine tells of pregnancy shock

Former Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle

Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle has told of her shock at finding she was pregnant - and said she was the least likely of her bandmates to have a baby first.

Nadine revealed she was expecting in the summer but did not say who the father was, leading to speculation about his identity.

But in an interview with Hello! she confirmed she was back with her ex-fiance Jason Bell, a former American football player, and he is the father.

Nadine, who is five months pregnant, said: "I think we just forgot to tell everyone we were together.

"When I said I was pregnant I thought, 'Why's everyone wondering who it is? Then I remembered, 'Oh yes, that's right. I do stuff on TV and people are confused. So this clears it up!"

Derry-born Nadine explained she had not been as keen as some of her bandmates to have children.

"I think I was the least likely to be the first to have a baby ," she said.

"A couple of the other girls had wanted babies for a long time but I said no way... It was definitely a shock, but I was really, really happy."

Jason said: "I've never felt excitement like this in my whole life. Knowing we're having a baby takes it to another level."

Girls Aloud called it a day after a recent tour, but Nadine said she hoped that at some point they would team up once more.

"I didn't want it to end - but the sequins, the wings and a bump wouldn't have been a good look. I loved the reunion and hopefully one day we will get back together to do something else."

:: The full interview is in the new edition of Hello! magazine which is out now.
