Naomi Watts: Kidman was my cheerleader
Actress Naomi Watts has revealed that her friend of over two decades Nicole Kidman kept her motivated and optimistic when she struggled to find parts in the early stages of her career.
The pair have been close ever since they acted alongside each other in 1991 film Flirting.
While struggling to land parts in Hollywood during the early stages of her career, Nicole provided Naomi the support she needed to keep going.
"She kept saying, 'It's just going to take one thing, one thing, Nay, and you know, if you're in a hit film…then everything changes,' " Naomi recalled during a forthcoming interview on CBS network’s Sunday Morning.
Naomi came to Hollywood with a big dream and a singular vision.
She didn’t have a buffer profession and found it difficult to deal with rejection.
"Oh my God, I mean, I considered myself fairly sensitive, but I don't think a strong person could cope with it over and over again," she said.
"There were moments when I was sure I was done. Oh yeah, but I didn't have a plan B really, I didn't."
Nicole will play Princess Grace in the upcoming biopic Grace of Monaco, while Naomi stars as Princess Diana in Diana.
The friends recently revealed at the Screen Actors Guild Awards last month that they will be having a “Princess Party” together to celebrate their roles.
Naomi’s full Sunday Morning interview will air on CBS this weekend.
