Naomie Harris is a city girl

Naomie Harris is looking forward to staying in a cottage with her future family.

The 37-year-old star grew up in the north area of the capital with her Jamaican-born mother and siblings.

Naomie is notoriously private about her personal life and it is unknown whether she is currently in a relationship. However, she has been more open about her desire to start a family recently and she knows the perfect place to go with her future loved ones.

"Recently, I rented a little cottage in Hertfordshire for six months; I could have stayed there for the rest of my life. My brother and sister are much younger than me, so I grew up an only child and I'm happy in my own company. But in the end, I came back to London. I was worried I'd end up as the crazy woman down the lane," she giggled to British newspaper The Telegraph.

Joking about how neighbours would comment on her celebrity status, Naomie laughed "[They'd say] 'And now she's got cats.' That'd make it even worse! So I've decided when I go back, it'll be with a family."

Before getting into acting Naomie studied social and political sciences at England's prestigious Cambridge University. She believes her education has helped people hold more respect for her as a woman in the movie industry.

"Mum never wanted me to go to Cambridge. I always put incredible pressure on myself in terms of achieving, so she wanted me to go somewhere less work-oriented, where I'd have more fun. But I said: 'I want the pressure,'" she recalled.

"In hindsight, my mum was right. But going to Cambridge is one of the things I'm most proud of. In this industry, it's difficult to be taken seriously as a woman and that really helps."
