Natalie Lowe to tour U.K. with new dance show
Natalie Lowe will be joined by former Strictly champions Louis Smith and Jay McGuiness.
Ballroom dancer Natalie Lowe is set to tour the U.K. with a stage show following her departure from Strictly Come Dancing.
The professional dancer had appeared on the hit BBC show since 2009 after starting out on Australia’s Dancing with the Stars, but recently announced her plans to step away from the dance floor.
She’s not hanging up her dancing shoes though as Natalie has confirmed she’ll be taking to the road with ‘50s-style production Rip It Up. She’s not going it alone though; the blonde beauty will be joined by former Strictly winners Louis Smith and Jay McGuiness to bust some moves in the form of swing, bop, jive and other dance styles.
“To be able to work with these two incredible Strictly champions and choreograph routines with them to the music from music’s greatest decade is something we are all very excited to be working on,” Natalie gushed to the Press Association. “Together, we will dance through some of the most fantastic songs ever created.”
Former The Wanted singer Jay, who won in 2015 with his dance partner Aliona Vilani, also shared his excitement, especially over the band that’s touring with them.
“To perform with Radio Two’s Leo Green and his band, as well as share the stage with Natalie and Louis and such a talented cast of singers and dancers, should be quite an experience,” he gushed.
“We have some great ideas and are looking forward to bringing them to the theatres around the country, singing and dancing to some of the greatest songs from one of the greatest decades.”
Meanwhile Olympic gymnast Louis, who took home the glitterball trophy in 2012 with Flavia Cacace, promised the show will demonstrate not only dancing but all the vocal harmony groups from the ‘50s.
Tickets go on sale Friday (12May17) with dates set to take place in September and October.
