Naya: I cried for Cory
Naya Rivera says the Cory Monteith Glee episode was “definitely tough” to watch.
Cory passed away from an overdose in July, just weeks before his castmates were set to film the show’s fifth season.
Naya admits she cried while watching The Quarterback, the episode which was dedicated to Cory’s memory.
“It was really difficult, it brought tears to my eyes,” Naya told Access Hollywood.
“It was definitely tough, but all in all, I think it was a great episode. I’m really proud of everybody.”
Glee will have its final run next season, and for Naya this is a bittersweet process. While she is sad about the show ending, she is also glad it will finish on a high.
“I think we’ve had a really good run on the show,” she said.
“I think that all good things must come to an end, so whenever that comes to an end, I’ll just be grateful that I was even on it.”
While saying goodbye to Glee will be difficult, Naya has other projects in the works and is focused on making music.
Her song Sorry features her fiancé Big Sean and is part of the album she has been working on for two years.
“Hopefully, everyone will think it’s good. We’ve got some really good features coming up on the album, and I’ve got a single coming out really soon,” Naya previously told Perez Hilton.
“I hope everyone likes it when it drops. I’ve been working so hard on it, but I definitely have to get something out there sooner rather than later… I’m keeping it very 90s.”
