One Direction hunk Niall Horan is thought to be romancing Ellie Goulding despite a seven-year age gap.

The 19-year-old pop star is said to have sparked a romance with the crooner despite a seven-year age gap.

The Irish hunk got together with the 26-yer-old English beauty after she split from actor Jeremy Irvine in July, according to British newspaper the Daily Mirror.

The new couple got together at the weekend’s V Festival and allegedly put on a public display of affection during the Kings of Leon set.

The pair dressed incognito for the occasion and were surrounded by friends and a bodyguard to prevent fans from taking pictures.

They laughed and talked during the band’s hour-long show at Hylands Park near Chelmsford, Essex, according to the outlet.

Niall was reportedly spotted smooching the Explosions hitmaker during the American act’s encore and the duo snuck off early to get some private time together backstage before the performance was through.

Ellie and the boyband member allegedly enjoyed the rest of the evening inside the Mahiki area and didn’t leave until closing time at 12:30 am.

Niall hasn’t had a long-term girlfriend since joining the band after taking part in The X Factor 2010 in the United Kingdom.

He has expressed interest in Ellie in the past, but revealed One Direction’s hectic schedule keeps him from having a serious girlfriend.

“We go back on the road straight after a show and we’re gone,” he previously explained.

“I wish we did have time for girls and parties but we don’t. [But] I’ll say one thing: Ellie Goulding – wow. She’s absolutely amazing looking.”

One Direction are meanwhile promoting the release of their new documentary This Is Us.

The film, which follows the lives Niall and his bandmates Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, is scheduled to hit cinemas this month.
