Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence have reportedly been sharing lunch while shooting their new movie.

The 25-year-old actor dated the 24-year-old actress on-and-off between 2011 and 2014 after meeting while shooting the X-Men franchise. Although they aren't together any more they have apparently been friendly while shooting the latest instalment Apocalypse, with suggestions Nicholas might have reconciliation on his mind.

"It seems Nick may still have feelings for Jen, but he's playing it cool," an insider told British magazine Heat. "There's always been chemistry."

The news comes as something of a surprise, as Nicholas is rumoured to be romancing former Glee star Dianna Agron. Jennifer is also thought to have moved on and is now with Coldplay star Chris Martin, with recent reports suggesting they have even moved in together.

It could be that Jennifer and Nicholas have simply realised they are best off as friends, with claims they have been joking around and having a lot of fun on set.

"When they first got to set, Nick and Jen hugged in front of everyone," the insider said. "They've gone straight back into their old cosy routine of lunching together every day - often with takeout sushi in her trailer. They're always reading lines together and they crack each other up."

Jennifer gushed about Nicholas when they were together, famously marvelling about how unaffected by fame he is. In 2012, she also laughed that he didn't realise many women found him hunky.

"Oh, he really doesn’t care... like he'll sometimes wear these white tennis shoes with jeans, then tuck his pants into his socks," she giggled

"He has absolutely no idea how good-looking he is… I think a lot of women and men hate me because of that."
