Nicole Kidman reportedly gave Katie Holmes some words of wisdom as she ended her marriage to Tom Cruise.
The Australian actress divorced from the Mission Impossible star in 2001 after 10 years of marriage and the adoption of two children; Isabella, now 19, and Connor, 17.
Us Weekly reports that Katie went to Nicole for support "over the last few weeks" of her marriage and took solace in the fact that her pal is now happily married to Keith Urban with two daughters.
"[Nicole] told Katie her life is great now and she has no regrets," a source told the publication.
Katie and Nicole are said to have conducted a secret friendship soon after the Dawson's Creek star tied the knot with Tom in 2006.
"They spoke when Nicole called the kids," the insider said. "She knows what it's like in that house."
Nicole had stated in the past to Marie Claire that she was "really damaged" when she split from Tom and "not sure whether [love and marriage] was ever going to happen again to me."
Meanwhile, Katie is moving on with her life in New York and has enrolled Suri into an exclusive Catholic School with alumni including Lady Gaga.
