Nicole Scherzinger shocked by broken gift

Nicole Scherzinger

Nicole Scherzinger once wanted to return a broken Christmas ornament she was gifted by a "senile family member".

The former Pussycat Doll loves the festive season and is always keen to spend it with her family. She understands they must struggle to know what to get her as she seemingly has it all, but was especially surprised when she opened a gift one year.

"Once I wanted to [return something] - but I never actually did. Someone gave me a broken tree ornament, which was a sleigh - and Santa Claus was missing. I was like, 'What's happening here?' I think it was an older family member who was going senile that gave it to me. But, you know, you can't be rude. I was like, 'Thank you so much,'" she laughed to Heat magazine.

Nicole often finds herself travelling during December and one year a plane journey ruined her Christmas. She decided not to let it get her down though and showed she always manages to look on the positive side of life.

"I've always just barely got home in time for Christmas, but [my craziest one] was probably when I was touring with the Pussycat Dolls," she recalled. "I spent one Christmas Eve travelling back from a tour in Europe to get back to my family in Kentucky, US, and I got stuck in the airport. It was devastating! I was trying not to curse, so I sang Christmas carols instead."
