Nikki Reed: Everything is wonderful!

Nikki Reed’s next project is “very meaningful”.

The former Twilight actress and her The Vampire Diaries actor beau got engaged earlier this year. And speaking at the Lindt Gold Bunny Celebrity Auction, the 26-year-old couldn’t help but gush about her husband-to-be.

“Everything is wonderful,” she smiled to the American edition of OK! Magazine. “We’re a team, put it that way.”

As well as joining forces in the romantic sense, the couple have also started building a production company together. And Nikki revealed that despite its fledgling state, they already have “a few projects” in the pipeline.

“I’m also writing a project that I’m going to direct and although I don’t want to talk about the topic right now, I’ll say it’s a very relevant one and something very meaningful,” she teased.

Nikki is a very sensitive and giving person, and that was one of the reasons why she got involved with the auction, which benefits the Autism Speaks organisation. It’s a matter that is close to her heart, as her younger brother Joey was diagnosed with the condition when he was two.

“I have a long-standing relationship with Autism Speaks. I’ve been supporting them for many, many years now. I have a personal connection and so I’m just so thrilled that Lindt wants to encourage this partnership and use their voice and mine-our collective voice to spread awareness,” she added to the outlet. “That’s the only way you really create change.”

The actress believes a lot of work still needs to be done in terms of researching the condition, and that in 20 or 30 years people will look back and see that science was only scratching the surface in this generation.

“So right now it’s a very broad category and I think it’s about really narrowing that down and figuring how to treat every single person with autism as an individual,” she added.
