No geek chic for gadget man Ortiz

Ortis Deley presents The Gadget Show on Five

Ortiz Deley may work with gadgets, but he's revealed that his home is remarkably devoid of gizmos.

The Gadget Show presenter - a self-confessed "geek" - has been told not to go overboard with the technology at home by his other half.

"Our flat is tiny and my fiancee has said on numerous times 'If you get one more bit of kit, I'll tear the roof off', so I've had to limit the number of bits and pieces that I have - we have a decent TV and iPod dock but that's about it because there just isn't the room," he said.

Ortiz, who thinks the most ubiquitous piece of tech is the mobile phone because of "everything it can and will do in the future", reckoned the Five show has made geeks chic.

"There's no shame in our game any more, we are geeks and we wear the badge with honour," he said.

"It doesn't matter how trendy I dress, I am a geek. A lot of people love The Gadget Show and I think people are more willing now to admit they're geeks. We don't try and hide the fact that's that what we are. We love tech!"

:: The Gadget Show airs on Monday nights on Five.
