No new Miranda series any time soon

Miranda fans will have to wait for a new series of the hit sitcom.

The comedy, starring and co-written by Miranda Hart, moved to BBC One from BBC Two for its third series.

But BBC controller of comedy commissioning Shane Allen told the Broadcasting Press Guild it would be a while before series four reached the small screen.

"Miranda's someone who's had a massive impact. I think she's doing a live tour and then has film plans," he said.

"It will probably be a while."

Asked how long the wait could be, he said: "How long is a piece of string?

"She's got Call The Midwife, and a one-off show with Bruce (Forsyth)."

Miranda is set to interview Sir Bruce in an hour-long show, which aims to celebrate the entertainer's 70-year career.

Your Horoscopes by Russell Grant

Pisces:

Your income will get a big boost, thanks to an impressive work assignment. You will be very busy in the days ahead, which is beneficial. You have a tendency to rest on your laurels when you have lots of free time. A demanding schedule forces you to step up your game. If your energy starts to flag, make time for daily exercise. It seems counterintuitive, but moving your body can actually refresh you. Working with a partner is strongly advised. A collaborator will attend to practical matters.More
